The LSU School of Education has been offering graduate online courses for over ten years. Our classes offer students some unique learning experiences including small class sizes, totally online classes, accredited programs, registration four times a year, technical support for the course, and knowledgeable faculty.

Our Online Programs

School of Education offers students several online graduate level degrees like Masters of Art in Teaching and Masters of Art in Curriculum and Instruction.

The Master of Art in Teaching (M.A.T) fulfills the requirements for either the service credentials prescribed by the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists Department of Education and/or the California Commis­sion on Teacher Credentialing for multiple and/or single subject.

Programs


The Department of Curriculum and Instruction Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction is designed for educators who would like a graduate degree in education and are primarily interested in teaching. The program has been designed to cover a core of professional and academic courses and then allow the student to build expertise in a particular area of interest. The Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction requires a minimum of 45 units post-baccalaureate coursework and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Read more.

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) is similar to the fifth year program and can be taken in place of the fifth year. The M.A.T. is for persons who have a bachelor’s degree and wish to obtain the State of California Professional Clear Credential along with a master’s degree. Those who have earned a credential as an undergraduate are not able to take the M.A.T. but may take a Master of Arts degree (M.A.), which is an academic degree not tied to a credential. Read more.

Credentials



La Sierra University's state-approved multiple subjects teacher education program prepares candidates to teach in elementary schools with a preliminary teaching credential from the State of California. The preliminary credential is valid for 5 years, during which time the individual should work toward completing the professional clear credential, which can be earned at La Sierra. Read more.
