Baritone saxophonist Calogero to perform for Pierce Street Jazz

A baritone saxophonist, whose talents have brought him performances with music’s top acts and on feature films, will headline La Sierra University’s Pierce Street Jazz concert this week.

Pierce Street Jazz will present baritone saxophonist Pablo Calogero on Wed., June 17, at 7 p.m. His extensive musical background in New York City and Los Angeles as a sideman and studio musician includes work with Tito Puente, Mario Bauza, Celia Cruz, David Sanborn, Wynton Marsalis, Paul Simon, the Count Basie Orchestra and many other luminaries. He has also performed on feature film soundtracks and television spots, and in 1992 played the role of Ramon on “The Mambo Kings."  

Calogero will perform at the Troesh Conference Center, Zapara School of Business with bassist Henry Franklin, pianist Theo Saunders and drummer Ramon Banda. Admission is free. For further information call 951-785-2148. La Sierra University is located at 4500 Riverwalk Parkway, Riverside.
