La Sierra University celebrates creation with creativity, insight

With newly created music, exquisite nature photography, poetry, performances and thought-provoking presentations, La Sierra University will host a “Celebration of Creation Weekend” this Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2.

"Celebration of Creation" is a General Conference event held annually on one of the North American campuses of higher education and this year arrives at La Sierra.

Activities will begin during First Service, a weekly student vespers held at 8 p.m. at the La Sierra University Church. The weekend will commence with the world premiere of a composition by La Sierra’s Ariel Quintana, assistant professor of choral studies, performed by La Sierra’s choral groups and the La Sierra University Orchestra. The concert will be illustrated with photography by La Sierra University biology professors Lee Grismer and Lloyd Trueblood, and marketing director Natan Vigna. 

Activities will continue during Sabbath services at the university church. Sabbath afternoon events begin at 2 p.m. at the Museum of Natural History with presentations at 3 p.m. at the Visual Arts Center. A full schedule is available below. For further information call 951-785-2241.
