Academic Advising

Congratulations on your acceptance to La Sierra!  Now that you're officially a part of our campus family, complete four easy steps to register for your first quarter of classes:

  1. Access your Self-Service account.  For directions, click here.
  2. Check for registration holds-they prevent you from registering!  To request information about a hold, contact the 4-digit campus extension beside each hold.  All phone numbers at La Sierra use the following format: (951) 785-####.
  3. After all holds are cleared and transcripts have been evaluated, contact the Center for Student Academic Success at (951) 785-2452 to schedule an advising appointment.  At CSAS an advisor will help you finalize your course schedule and provide your Registration PIN.
  4. Use your Registration PIN to register online.  For registration directions, click here.

Before registration opens for your second quarter, you will be transferred to a permanent faculty advisor according to your program of study.

La Sierra uses DegreeWorks, a web-based application that allows students and advisors to view progress toward completing a degree or pre-professional program.  DegreeWorks lists transfer credits, courses currently being taken, and courses yet to be completed.  Click on the link below for a tutorial on how to get started.

Use DegreeWorks to identify courses that need to be completed.  To view courses available during upcoming quarters, visit the online schedules below and select the desired quarter from the drop down menu.

If DegreeWorks shows a course to be completed that you think might be satisfied by a course previously taken at another institution, visit the Records office to complete and submit a Petition for Academic Variance.
