Degree Programs Administration & Leadership

Master of Arts Administration & Leadership M.A.

The Master of Arts degree in Administration and Leadership provides students with the opportunity to plan a personalized program focusing on the needs and goals of the individual student. All programs are designed to assist the student in developing leadership and organizational skills. Requirements for the Seventh-day Adventist Administrator Certificate may be included in this MA program. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program students will:

 

  • Address complex topics systematically and creatively, think critically, and write competently in developing and supporting a sustained argument.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas, issues, and conclusions clearly and effectively to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Demonstrate a conceptual understanding and methodological competence in research.
  • Understand and critically reflect on the moral/ethical/ legal dimensions of educational leadership and management theory and practice.
  • Identify and critique the theories, concepts and current research findings of the discipline.
  • Be critically aware of the requirements and standards of the relevant employer organizations, government ministries and agencies and professional bodies.
  • Be critically conversant with the literature, theory, current issues and generally regarded best practices in the discipline of administration and leadership.

Specialist in Education degree Administration & Leadership Ed.S.

The Ed.S. degree in School Administration and Leadership at La Sierra University focuses on the development of effective leadership. Your courses focuses on historical and contemporary theories and research regarding leadership and organizational management.

A completed masters degree in a relevant field of study which should include a minimum of  one basic course in each of the following: 
  • educational administration
  • curriculum planning
  • counseling and research.
These courses may be taken as co-requisites if necessary.
