ARTIST STATEMENT

Much of my recent artwork has featured objects or places often

overlooked, considered mundane or found undesirable. In this new

body of images I concentrate on vehicles of an earlier age now

altered by exposure to the elements, and ultimately abandoned.

The rich layers of peeling paint, rust and decay become a metaphor

for our human frailty. I am fascinated with the complexity of colors

and varied textures. My focus is on the beauty of this aging process

which reveals, in many cases, surprises beneath the surface.
