Lindsey Char, flute

LINDSEY CHAR was born and raised in Riverside, California.  She began piano lessons with her mother at four years old and also started the violin at the age of six with Anthony Ginter.  At the age of eight, she began to take flute lessons with Karen Togashi, the piccoloist of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra.  Educated in Christian schools limited the amount of musical opportunities offered.  Therefore, in middle school, Lindsey joined the Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra which allowed her to broaden her musical experiences. She was a member of the orchestra for six years.  During high school, Lindsey was also able to complete level ten of the MTAC certificate of merit exams. In Fall 2011, Lindsey began attending La Sierra University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts/ Pre-Medicine as a violin major studying with Professor Jason Uyeyama.  Additionally, she started studying flute with Dr. Martin Glicklich and in the fall 2012, officially switched her primary instrument from violin to flute. Lindsey continues to play in various ensembles on campus, Loma Linda Broadcasting Network, and local community churches.  She plans on graduating next year in the Spring 2014.
