Biography

Ariel Quintana was born in Libertador San Martin, Entre Rios, Argentina and started playing piano at the age of 3.

He earned a Masters in Music in Piano Performance from the National Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires. His list of teachers and mentors includes Estrella Steger, Perla Brugola, Julio Fainguersh, Valdo Sciammarella, Waldemar Wensell, Paul Salamunovich, David Wilson, Morten Lauridsen and William Dehning.

The Los Angeles Master Chorale under maestros Paul Salamunovich and Grant Gershon sung some of Ariel's arrangements and compositions, and premiered his Hodie Christus Natus Est in December 2000. This piece was also performed at the National Convention of the ACDA in New York in February of 2003. It is written for double chorus a cappella published by Alliance Music Publishing.Santa Barbara Publishing released his Ave verum Corpus; it was premiered by the Cathedral Choir at Hollywood Presbyterian Church under his direction. 

Ariel Quintana is also the founder of the choral ensemble Opus 7. They have recorded his self-publishedMass From Two Worlds and Misa Criolla by Ariel Ramirez. Quintana graduated from the  University of Southern California with a Doctoral degree in Choral Conducting and was Assistant Director of the Los Angeles Master Chorale for four years. His choirs have toured Europe, Japan and South America. Currently he is Director of Choral Activities at la Sierra University, Minister of Music at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, and Artistic Director of Sierra Linda Master Chorale and orchestra in Riverside, California. Doctor Quintana is an active member of ACDA and has been invited to present his compositions at National and Regional Conventions in 2016, 2018, and 2020.
