LSU’s Big Band brings on holiday cheer

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – (www.lasierra.edu) Got the holiday blues? Have too much to do? Let the LSU Big Band lift your spirits and swing you into the season’s festivities with time-honored band classics and inspiring Christmas songs. Their program will include Charlie Parker’s "Yardbird Suite;" John Coltrane’s "Afro Blue"; ¡stor Piazzolla’s "Libertango"; Jimmy Smith’s "Prayer Meetin’"; "Christmas Song," famously performed by Nat King Cole; "Christmas Time is Here" from "A Charlie Brown Christmas"; and "Little Drummer Boy."

Featured soloists will include: David Hong, saxophone; Jay Du Nesme, Casey Hoehn, trumpet; Sergio Leiva, piano; Jerry Slater, bass; Cody Breyer, guitar.
