George Mason econ professor to talk immigration at La Sierra
Bryan Caplan, professor of economics at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., will deliver a Business Colloquium presentation at 5 p.m. in La Sierra University’s Cossentine Hall Room 100 on Tues., March 12. The title of the presentation will be “Immigration Restrictions: A Solution in Search of a Problem.”
Caplan holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University in Princeton, N.J. and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of “The Myth of the Rational Voter: Why Democracies Choose Bad Policies” published in 2007 and 2008 by Princeton University Press, and “Selfish Reasons to Have More Kids: Why Being a Great Parent is Less Work and More Fun Than You Think,” published in 2011 by Basic Books in New York.
He blogs regularly on EconLog for The Library of Economics and Liberty and has written nearly 60 journal articles and book chapters. In addition, his work has published in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, American Economic Review, Economic Journal, Journal of Law and Economics, and Intelligence, and he has appeared on ABC’s 20/20 television news magazine and on public affairs network C-SPAN.
