We welcome your interest in the English and Communication Department at La Sierra University. Our department promotes a blend of curiosity, knowledge, and appreciation for literature, writing, and human communication to understand and exchange messages that create meaning fundamental to intellectual inquiry.

Our academic programs lead to a bachelor of arts degree in English (with a focus on literature or writing), a bachelor of arts degree in Communication (designed to prepare students to go on to professional or graduate school, or to seek employment and become contributing members to society), and a master of arts in English and American literature. We also offer a minor in Drama with opportunities for students to write, direct, act and produce original plays for our campus community.
