Tour 1: The Beach and San Juan Capistrano Mission
Hang out for the day at a favorite beach town, where you will enjoy sightseeing around Mission San Juan Capistrano. You’ll spend the afternoon and evening at the beach, complete with hot dogs and s’mores. This tour will give you a glimpse of what students at La Sierra get to experience on the weekends.
Tour 2: Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Los Angeles
One of the biggest cities in the world is only 60 miles away from La Sierra. Los Angeles is a world famous vacation destination and on this exciting tour, you’ll get to see why. You will go behind the scenes in Hollywood and then hop on a bus to see sights like Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and La Brea Tar Pits in downtown L.A.
Tour 3: Disneyland, the happiest place on earth!
When the Disneyland opened in 1955, it had 20 attractions. Today it has more than 65— way more than you’ll be able to tackle in one day, but see how much you can get done. Enjoy the happiest place on earth and finish the night with a fireworks show extravaganza!
SCHEDULE, DATES, AND DIRECTIONS
Friday, April 26
Registration will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., but try to arrive by 7:00 p.m, so you can enjoy our Friday evening worship, First Service. This weekly program is our contemporary worship, complete with live bands. Follow the crowd over to the Eagle’s Nest for Midnight Cafe afterwards.Saturday, April 27
Start the morning with Sabbath School and church, followed by a delicious lunch in the cafeteria. We will take a local tour during the afternoon and end the day with a big social event on campus.Sunday, April 28
Grab a quick breakfast on campus and then spend the day on one of three tours -- Beach, Los Angeles, or Disneyland. Please refer to the other side of this brochure for more information on the tours. You will need to sign up for one when you register online.Monday, April 29
Breakfast starts at 9:00 in the cafeteria. The rest of the day, you will experience life as a La Sierra student. Enjoy campus tours, classroom visits, and personal interaction with professors and students. - Exit Pierce Street/Riverwalk Pkwy.
- Turn left at Pierce Street (end of off-ramp), follow onto Riverwalk Pkwy
- Continue on Riverwalk Pkwy and pass Collett Road (traffic light)

ABOUT MONEY
Students get to enjoy the University Experience weekend for free! Parents or chaperons are required to pay a $20 fee. This one-time fee includes your meals, lodging and entertainment while you’re our guest.
Airfare reimbursement is available for all students attending from out of state. For reimbursement and payment information check out the website: www.lasierra.edu/ue2013.
TOUR COSTS
We want to provide all students and their guests with the best possible experience of La Sierra University and Southern California. So choose the tour that appeals to you most!
TOUR 1 —THE BEACH & SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO: FREE
There is no cost for this tour. We will provide you with transportation and a tour guide for this all-day tour to one of the most famous missions in SoCal–San Juan Capistrano and one of the most beautiful beaches in Southern California: San Clemente. You are encouraged to bring spending money for souvenirs and lunch. We will provide you with a breakfast bag, bottled water, and a beach dinner with hot dogs (vegetarian, of course!) and s’mores by the fire! Comfortable and modest beach clothing, a light jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a camera are encouraged.
TOUR 2 —HOLLYWOOD & LOS ANGELES: $35
The cost of this excursion is $35 and includes breakfast and dinner. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen and your favorite shades in order to experience the best of sunny Southern California in style. We will provide you with transportation and a tour guide for this all-day tour of Hollywood and greater Los Angeles. You are encouraged to bring spending money for souvenirs and lunch while on the tour. We will provide you with bottled water, and dinner at a famous SoCal spot. Comfortable walking shoes, a light jacket, and a camera are encouraged.
TOUR 3 —DISNEYLAND: $87
The fee for this tour is at a discounted rate of $87*. We will provide you with transportation and parking for this all-day adventure at the “happiest place on earth,” Disneyland. You are encouraged to bring spending money for souvenirs and meals while you are at the park. We will provide you with a breakfast bag and bottled water. Comfortable walking shoes, a light jacket, and a camera are encouraged. *The fee covers the park entrance.
