Scholarship Details and Requirements

The Pacific Union Conference is happy to offer a new scholarship to support our incoming, in-union freshmen who choose to attend La Sierra University.

Details:

  • This $2,000 scholarship is available to all new incoming SDA Undergraduate Freshman attending La Sierra University.
  • A Freshman would be a first-time entering undergraduate student who has never attended any institution of higher education. This also includes a student enrolled in the fall term who attended a postsecondary institution for the first time in the prior summer, and a student who entered with advanced standing (college credit earned while in high school).
  • It is a one-time only, nonrenewable scholarship to qualified candidates that meet the scholarship requirements.
  • Qualified transfer students (classified by La Sierra as Freshman level) that have never attended La Sierra, may be eligible for a prorated amount of $1200 Winter or $600 Spring, depending on the date of transfer.
  • Application/Verifications are to be completed with La Sierra and submitted as part of the student financial clearance process. Do not send requests directly to Pacific Union Conference.
  • Scholarship will be paid directly to the institution (La Sierra) with instructions to credit the account of the student by the end of the term in which the scholarship was approved.

Requirements:

  • Student must have attended a Pacific Union Conference SDA secondary school for a minimum of one (1) semester and can provide transcripts; or
  • Student must be a baptized SDA member of a Pacific Union Conference church; or
  • Student must have a parent/guardian that is a baptized member of a Pacific Union Conference church.
  • Student must be accepted, enrolled, and attend classes beyond the drop date of the term in attendance.
  • Student must be classified as full-time and needs to maintain full-time enrollment throughout the school year.
  • Scholarship is subject to verification of qualifications and completion of this application.
  • Pacific Union Conference reserves the right to approve or decline any application that does not meet the requirements, prior to any commitment of funds.

Application Deadline:

Priority deadline is September 10. All applications must be submitted to Student Financial Services by October 10.
