The Short Term Missions provides opportunities for students from all faith backgrounds to participate in domestic and international short-term mission experiences. They invite individuals to get out of their comfort zone, see unfamiliar places, and bring aid to people in need, and in doing so, develop awareness and appreciation of others.
By participating in these trips, it is our hope that students will attain a better understanding of the world around them, and also what it means to live a life of service in following Jesus' example.
These trips are approximately one week in length and take place over and Spring and Summer Breaks (dates subject to school calendar).
Mission Locations and Activities
Every year, STORM trips are made available to students - and they span the globe! Recent mission trips have taken La Sierra students to places as far away as Kenya and Guatemala, and as close as downtown Los Angeles to assist with local needs.
Following are some of the popular activities that La Sierra students have participated in during short-term mission trips:
- Helping in orphanages
- Evangelistic endeavors
- Assisting with medical concerns
- Providing construction services
- Providing technological services
Service-learning credit is generally awarded for participation in STORM trips. Small scholarships may also be available for each trip. Check with your STORM team to find out details.
