How to Sign Up!

  1. Click on the trip you would like to go on above. Complete the interest form.
  2. Complete the University Clearance Form on OrgSync.
  3. Begin your:

  4. Upload these these completed forms into your STMissions Application

  5. Complete the Canvasback application (for Majuro trip only!)
  6. Make an appointment with STMissions for your Screening Committee Date.

Q:  How long are trips?
A:  1-2 weeks

Q:  Do I go alone?
A:  STMissions Trips are GROUP adventures, so students and a La Sierra Faculty/Staff member will be accompanying you.

Q:  How much does it cost?
A:  Prices vary depending on length and location.  We strive to keep Trips under $3000

Q:  Are there any requirements?
A:  Yes!  

  • You must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • You must have satisfactorily completed all 005/006/007 courses prior to the term of service
  • You can not have a citizenship record with Student Life
  • You must get approved by the University Clearance Team as well as the Screening Committee

Q:  Is Service-Learning Credit available?
A:  At this time, no.  So sorry.

Q:  Can non-La Sierra students attend?
A:  Trips are available to La Sierra students first.  However, we love when friends come!  Connect with STMissions to see if space may be available.

Q:  Can minors go?
A:  If you are a La Sierra University student under the age of 18, you are fine.

Q:  Is there training?
A:  Yes!  All STMission Trip applicants must attend the Spring Quarter training courses prior to service

Q:  How do I fund raise?
A:  There are virtually endless ways to raise money for the SM fund!  You can ask for donations from your local church, ask friends and family for contributions, you can use money from a part time job, start a car wash, and much more! 

Q:  Is it possible to receive a tax-deduction slip for contributions?
A:  Yes, please contact STMissions for more info.  **NOTE:  All checks must be made payable to La Sierra University.**

Q:  Is it safe?
A:  Yes. We take measures to ensure that the location and travel to/from are vetted by the location and the University.

Summer Camp

Camp is an exhilarating 6-8 week summer program geared to mentor, engage and teach young people about Christ!

As a collegiate staff member, you can apply to work in various fields, including:

  • Water sports
  • Archery
  • Drama
  • Crafts
  • Horsemanship
  • Counselor
  • Cook Staff
  • ...and so much more!

Our aim is to get you connected to one of the 7 amazing camps that we have partnered with! 

Those seven camps include:

 SDA Summer Camp Earnings Match 

Renewable Scholarship:  La Sierra University will give a matching scholarship to students who work for the Seventh-day Adventist Church as summer camp personnel during the summer prior to their fall enrollment. The university will match students’ certified summer earnings that are applied to their fall term accounts. Matching funds are not available for reduced-tuition or off-campus programs. Any exceptions must be approved by Enrollment Services.

Pacific Union: 100% up to $2,000

Non-Pacific Union: 50% up to $1,500
