Daniella V. Hernandez ‘15

A San Bernardino native and an actively involved student, Ms. Daniella Hernandez graduated from La Sierra University with an impressive 3.99 GPA. While at La Sierra, Daniella participated in numerous school organizations such as being an instrumentalist in the University Wind Ensemble, a member of La Sierra’s prestigious Honors Program (2011-2014), and a member of the Pre-Law Society where she served as treasurer from 2013-2014. She was the Creative Director and a Designer for the annual REVO charity event from 2012-2014, and served on the Intellectual Life Committee, a position appointed by the university's president. In addition to working as a teacher for the English as a Second Language campus program, and as a student worker at the University Library, Daniella also made time to help the community by volunteering at the Fern Residence Lodge (for seniors) where she gave health and nutrition seminars. In 2015, Daniella received the Outstanding Senior Award for the La Sierra University Communications Department.

After her time at La Sierra, Daniella graduated from UC Berkeley Law School. While at UC Berkeley, Daniella spent a term serving as a Judicial Extern with the United States District Court in San Francisco, CA. She also worked at an immigration clinic and assisted UC Berkeley Law Professor David Oppenheimer in writing his book “The Ubiquity of Positive Measures for Addressing Systemic Discrimination and Inequality: A Comparative Global Perspective,” which was published in 2019.

Today, Daniella works as an associate attorney for Best Best and Krieger LLP in Riverside, CA, where she focuses on business contracts, real estate transactions, and estate planning. She was recently elected to the board of the Hispanic Bar Association in the Inland Empire (HBAIE) – the first Hispanic bar association within the Inland Empire region of Southern California. In 2020, she was honored as the College of Arts and Sciences Rising Star during La Sierra’s alumni weekend.

Among her many accomplishments, Daniella is tri-lingual, which perhaps contributes to the ease in which she relates to diverse people and ideas. Needless to say, Daniella has left quite an impression at her alma mater. Her previous professor, Dr. Melissa Tafoya, praised her stating, “Daniella is an amazingly bright, focused, responsible, and accomplished young woman.”
