Teaching Philosophy
Cassandra loves being in the classroom. Her pedagogy and her praxis are rooted in her devotion to inclusion and access in the classroom, which has been amplified and expanded by the experience of teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic and her years here at La Sierra.A class with Cassandra is structured around connection, with a focus on developing writing confidence and skills through writing in community. Her classrooms on most days are bustling with activity, as she encourages her students to engage with their ideas and writing in dynamic ways.
