Safety
Emergency Communication
In case of a crisis on campus, your student will be contacted by La Sierra Alerts. All students are automatically added to the system, and will receive both a text message and email with the necessary details. This mass communication system is also utilized for fire drills, earthquake drills, and active shooter drills. While students do not need to opt in to receive these vital messages, they do need to ensure that their cell phone numbers are current and correct in their My La Sierra.
Concerning Sexual Misconduct
Under Title IX, La Sierra University prohibits all forms of unlawful sex discrimination and sexual misconduct including, but not limited to, sex-based intimidation and harassment, sexual harassment, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sexual violence. Should your student wish to report a case of sexual misconduct, they are encouraged to do so without fear at any time. The procedures for reporting a complaint, as well as information on the Title IX policy, can be found here.
