Applying for State ID Card

CALIFORNIA STATE ID

The state ID card is suggested while in the U.S. This document will provide you with sufficient proof of identity throughout your stay in the United States. By having an official U.S. identification card, you will not have to carry your passport around with you all the time.  The State ID card is acceptable at banks, stores, airports 9for domestic flights only), and other businesses where name  and age identification is required, You do not need to pass a driving test, as you will for a driver's license, to receive this identification card but it holds equal value. You can get a California ID from the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

How to apply for the CA State ID:

1. Visit the Office of International Student Services and make sure you have completed new student requirements and your SEVIS record has been activated.  2.Schedule an appointment with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Riverside Office. 3. Complete an original application form DL 44 (Available at the DMV).  4. Provide the following documents: Valid La Sierra University I-20 Form, I-94 Record, Original Passport, Social Security (SSN) or Social Security Denial (Form SSA-L676) 5. Pay a nominal application fee (cash, check, money order, or debit cards are accepted).

Riverside DMV, 6280 Brockton Avenue, Riverside, CA 92506 (800) 777-0133: Take 91 E, Exit Central Ave, Turn left on Central Ave, Turn Right on Brockton Ave, Turn Right on Gardena Dr.

Norco DMV, 3201 Horseless Carriage Dr, Norco, CA 92860: Take 91 W, Take 15 N, Exit Second St, Turn Left on Second St, Turn Right on I-15BUS/Hamner Ave, Turn left on Town and Country Dr, Turn Right on Tara Ln, Turn Right on Horseless Carriage Dr.
