Assistant Director Amanda Kaatz

Amanda graduated from La Sierra University in the Fall of 2021 as a Biology major.  During her time at the university, she was able to immerse herself in research as a member of the Grismer Herpetology Lab. As part of this research, she took multiple trips to South East Asia for fieldwork. In addition, Amanda was invited to present at a global gecko symposium in Israel, representing La Sierra University on an international level.

Throughout her time at La Sierra University, Amanda developed a passion for helping students succeed and perform to the best of their abilities. She feels that a necessary component of success is having a community and becoming more involved within your department. In her latest role as the Administrative Assistant for the Biology Department, she was able to encourage students to join the biology research labs and take the first steps to get more involved in the department. Amanda also led the efforts to create a more engaging Biology Department through the addition of live animals habitats.
