Transcripts & Transfers

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 requires that all transcript requests be in writing, signed and dated by the person to whom the records belong.

Procedures

  1. Proceed to the National Student Clearinghouse to order a transcript and make a payment.
  2. Contact (951) 785-2420 for status updates.
  3. You may choose to review your unofficial transcript online through My La Sierra.

  1. Regular $10.40 (processing of request is 1-3 Business Days, Mailed through standard US mail)
  2. Express $50.40 *only available within continental US (processing of request is 1-3 Business Days, Mailed through USPS Priority Expedited Mail, Tracking Number included)

Transfer Process New Transfer Student Steps

1 - Enrollment Services

Meet with an Enrollment Services Counselor to discuss admission procedures, financial aid estimates, and available academic programs. Call (951) 785-2000 or e-mail info@lasierra.edu.

2 - Application & Official Transcripts

Apply online and request that your official transcripts be MAILED directly to:

3 - La Sierra University Acceptance

Receive e-mail and/or formal letter of acceptance from the Office of Admissions.

4 - Official Transcript Evaluation

Receive confirmation that your official transcripts have been evaluated for La Sierra University course equivalency from Jesus Menchaca, Records Specialist, . To facilitate accurate academic advising and course registration, transcripts must first be evaluated.

5 - Financial Clearance

Send your FAFSA to La Sierra University (school code: 001215); then make an appointment with a financial aid counselor by calling (951) 785-2175 or e-mailing sfs@lasierra.edu. Pay at least one-third (1/3) of your quarter’s balance by the following dates: September 15 for Fall Quarter, December 15 for Winter Quarter, and March 15 for Spring Quarter.

6 - Your Portal Account

Access the University Portal at https://portal.lasierra.edu. To activate your account, click the Reset Password link on the login screen. The system will send a login notification to your secondary email, if one is on file. You may contact IT at or (951) 785-2900 if you have any questions or concerns.

7 - Registration Holds

Holds prevent registration. View holds in your Portal account at https://portal.lasierra.edu. From the Main Menu, go to Self-Service > Students > Student Records > View Holds. To request information about a hold, contact the 4-digit campus extension beside each hold. If calling off-campus, add "(951) 785" to the extension: (951) 785-####.

8 - Placement Testing

Students without a passing grade of “C” or above in a college-level Math may need a placement exam. Contact the Learning Support & Testing Center at (951) 785-2896 or testing@lasierra.edu. Testing may have a charge. For more information, visit the Testing Center webpage.

9 - Academic Advising

After transcript evaluation, contact the Office of Academic & Career Services (OACS) at (951) 785-2452 or to schedule an appointment where you will select courses.

10 - Class Registration

Students who have been advised may register for classes by logging in to the University Portal at https://portal.lasierra.edu.

11 - Attend La Sierra University Orientation

FALL | WINTER | SPRING | SUMMER
Attend Golden Eagle Day or Orientation to learn university policies, academic requirements, and campus resources important for a successful transition to La Sierra. To register, access the Golden Eagle Days Registration.

12 - Textbooks

Purchase books online at the https://bkstr.com/lasierraunivstore website.

    Security Office in the Convenience Center located at 11498 Pierce Street, Suite FF, Riverside, CA 92505. Photo ID and proof of enrollment required. See La Sierra ID Cards Request Form for more information.
  • Parking Permit
    Visit https://parking.lasierra.edu/ for directions on requesting a parking permit online. La Sierra ID card required.
