AVID for Higher Education
La Sierra University has partnered with AVID for Higher Education to support staff and faculty in providing a high-engagement learning environment for students, which leads to higher rates of student success. Our goal is to connect students with the appropriate co-curricular resources and provide evidence-based learning to faculty and staff on how to best provide curricular opportunities for deeper thinking.
We offer strategic learning tools and faculty resources in order to promote AVID based learning methods on campus. And we also have a community of AVID students at La Sierra, who continue to use their experience to further their education and career. The AVID Club on campus works to facilitate a relationship with local AVID middle and high schools, bringing in La Sierra students to classrooms as tutors and speakers.
The mission of AVID for Higher Education is to provide a comprehensive and strategic support to student success by supporting student and faculty engagement in curricular and co-curricular activities.
