About
Dominic Ombati is an Assistant Professor in the Sustainability Studies Program. His interests outside of work revolve around gardening and the United States financial markets. He speaks three languages: English, Swahili, and Kisii (his mother-tongue). His interest in sustainability started while pursuing his PhD in environmental geology/earth science at Loma Linda University. He is originally from Kenya, a country found in the Sub-Saharan African region, the poorest part of the world. Sustainability issues like extreme poverty, food insecurity, lack of clean water, sanitation, and many others are personal to him and believes he is well equipped to make a difference. Working in the sustainability field is his dream job and is excited to guide students to experience and view sustainability as a practical tool to save our only livable planet.
