STEM Bridge
STEM Bridge applications are now being accepted for Summer 2024!
Made possible by the Guided Pathways to Success Title V grant, STEM Bridge is a non-residential, no-cost, two-week summer intensive for incoming first-year and transfer students interested in STEM majors.
The program aims to develop belonging, access, and academic excellence in students before their first year at La Sierra University. During the program, students:
- engage in daily research alongside faculty and staff
- participate in daily workshops to develop skills crucial to academic success and careers in STEM
- gain early access to university resources.
This year, STEM Bridge begins on Monday September 2nd and concludes on September 13th. Labs and workshops run from 8am-3pm Monday through Thursday, and 8am-12pm on Friday. Breakfast, lunch, and lab materials are provided.
The deadline to apply for STEM Bridge is August 23rd but space is limited. Invitations are sent on a rolling basis and the program may close before the deadline so it is recommended that interested students apply as soon as possible.
STEM Bridge is a collaborative learning intensive that takes place at the La Sierra University main campus.
This two-week program (September 2nd-13th) allows students a hands-on, university-level research experience where students work alongside faculty in the areas of either genetics, pharmacology, or minority health. In each research track, invited students will also have opportunities to earn academic recognition and to develop a positive, academically-focused peer community.
Since 2020, STEM Bridge has helped students connect STEM interests with STEM majors and continues to foster persistence and academic success at La Sierra University.
