Brandstater Gallery to host evening of classical guitar and art

 

Enjoy an evening of art and music at Brandstater Gallery on Aug. 25. Adjunct guitar professor, arranger, recording artist Lee Zimmer will present an evening concert at the gallery which is exhibiting an intriguing show.

Lee Zimmer, La Sierra University adjunct professor of guitar studies, will present an evening of classical guitar music at La Sierra's Brandstater Gallery on Aug. 25. The concert begins at 7 p.m. with a reception and art exhibit following the performance. Admission is free.

Zimmer, an experienced soloist and ensemble player, is also an adjunct professor of guitar at California Baptist University. Additionally he serves as music department chair for the Fender Center's Kids Rock Free program in Corona. Zimmer's recording and performance credits include the recent release of his solo album, “encarnacion,” featuring the guitar music of Federico Moreno-Torroba, Agustin Barrios, Manuel de Falla and others. He has also arranged music for one, two and four guitars.

The gallery is currently hosting the art exhibit, “The Exquisite Corpse,” featuring 20 randomly assembled woodcut print works created by La Sierra University art students and faculty. Brandstater Gallery's summer hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. For further information call 951-785-2959.
