Publication Guidelines

What needs to get approved by Public Relations/Marketing?

  1. Items that are sent off campus from the university for publicity purposes.
  2. Items that have potential for an off-campus audience.
    For example, brochures, bulletin inserts, fliers or posters placed in prominent locations, newsletters.
  3. Advertisements in any form.

If you are uncertain whether an item needs approval, please feel free to ask. We want to work with you toward best outcomes.

Misc. publications issues:

  1. The La Sierra University seal is reserved for specific publications. If you have questions about its use, please contact Public Relations.

Media Guidelines:
If a reporter calls your office please, contact Public Relations at pr@lasierra.edu or ex. 2016 and let us know whom you spoke with, the topic of the conversation and questions, and the media outlet the reporter works with. If you need assistance with media, please contact Public Relations.

If you have a story idea and would like to submit it to the press, please work through the Public Relations office. We can help direct your piece to the most appropriate media outlet. NOTE: It is essential in major crises that all contacts with the media be handled through Public Relations. If a university member or department is contacted by media during a crisis situation, please refer the reporter or other media representative immediately to 951-785-2016. Additionally, if department social media accounts incur critical comments or accusations, please do not respond, but immediately inform Public Relations of the incident.
