Former La Sierra University director to talk happy rooms on Hope Channel
On Fri., Aug. 14, Sat., Aug. 15 and Mon., Aug. 17 the Hope Channel in Silver Spring, Md. will broadcast Landa's interview with “Really Living” television show host Don Schneider. Landa served for 33 years as director of advising and orientation at La Sierra University. She retired in 2007. Schneider recently interviewed Landa about her happy rooms created in various parts of the world and on some of her other outreach projects.
The shows will air at Eastern Standard Time, 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Aug. 14; 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Aug. 15 and at 7 a.m. on Aug. 17. Schneider also serves as president of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists in Silver Spring. The Hope Channel is available on Direct TV Channel 368, on satellite television and through the Internet at www.hopetv.org.
Landa re-designed the den in her home into a happy room years ago, a room where she and her husband had spent many happy hours. She used her favorite colors of lime green, yellow, orange and red, pulled out old carpeting and painted the paneling and existing furniture to match her color scheme. She also hand-stitched five Thai silk wall hangings for the room and used books and specially selected toys to fashion a whimsical, cheery space.
