La Sierra Big Band to play the classics

La Sierra University's Big Band, under direction of Dr. David Brennan, will offer a toe-tapping repertoire of classic jazz tunes on Sat., Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.

The 18-member band will play "Take the 'A' Train" by Billy Strayhorn, arr. Gordon Goodwin, "Moonlight Serenade" by Glenn Miller, "Yardbird Suite" by Charlie Parker, arr. Mark Taylor, "Bags' Groove" by Milt Jackson, arr. John Clayton, and other songs.

The concert will be held at Hole Memorial Auditorium. Admission is free. La Sierra University is located at 4500 Riverwalk Parkway, Riverside, Calif., 92515. For further information call 951-785-2036 or email music@lasierra.edu.
