La Sierra University and church roll out Covid-19 vaccination clinics

 

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – La Sierra University and the La Sierra University Church, in collaboration with Riverside County Public Health, will provide four Covid-19 vaccination clinics for the community in May.

Two vaccination events will be held at the university church on Monday, May 10 and Thursday, May 13, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. both days. The clinics will offer the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine to individuals aged 18 and older. Both clinics will be held in the church Fellowship Hall at 4937 Sierra Vista Ave., Riverside. Participants are required to wear face masks and follow pandemic safety protocol.

Information about the decision effective April 23 to resume use of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine can be found at the Center for Disease Control & Prevention’s website.

La Sierra University’s clinic will be held Wednesday, May 12 in the university’s Alumni Pavilion gymnasium between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and will offer first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to individuals aged 16 years and older. Individuals who are 16 and 17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to receive the vaccine. A second-dose Pfizer-BioNTechclinic will be held on Wednesday, June 2 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

All four clinics are available to individuals who either work or reside in Riverside County. Appointments are strongly encouraged. Walk-ins may be accepted based on availability due to cancellations. There is no charge for the vaccines.

La Sierra University’s campus is accessible only through its main entrance at 4500 Riverwalk Parkway, Riverside. Visitors participating in the vaccination clinic must wear face masks and must stop at the entrance kiosk for instructions and to be allowed entrance to the campus. The vaccination clinic will operate under public health and safety protocol. If a campus visitor arrives at the front entrance without a face mask, they may request one from the kiosk attendant.
