Library's book sale enters buck-a-bag finale

The sale kicked off on Mon., April 3 in the library’s Lincoln Room, and will run through June 4. Tables of books offer readers a cornucopia of topics ranging from a section of plays and poetry, to history and literature, travel, art, novels, and religion. 

The popular sale has now entered its 'buck-a-bag' finale during its last week, with shoppers offered a sturdy bag which they may fill with any manner of books and sale items for $1 per bag.

The library conducts an annual spring cleaning of books that need to be discarded due to duplication or publication of newer editions, and that have been donated by community members and university faculty and staff. The library sells the books at low prices during the university’s spring quarter. Proceeds have helped purchase additional items for the library such as art pieces, an atrium fountain and other items. Last year’s sale funds allowed the library to buy several art items and book stack signage.

Book sale shoppers will take home their purchases in eco-friendly bags provided by the library. The book sale is open during library operating hours of 8 a.m. – 12 a.m. Mon. – Thurs.; 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Fri.; and 1 p.m. – 12 a.m. Sun. For further information call 951-785-2515 or 951-785-2044.
