Public Safety Information Notice: Email Scam

 

On Thursday, December 13, 2018, members of the La Sierra University community reported receiving a fraudulent email scam relating to Bitcoin. This scam is currently happening across the country and the messages are very similar in nature. This scam is being investigated by federal, state, and local law enforcement officials. There is no threat to the La Sierra University community, but we wanted you to be aware so you can remain vigilant when opening your email.

If any odd or suspicious activity or items are observed, please call the La Sierra University security office. Please direct all questions or concerns to security at 951-785-2222.
