"Intermission is the attestation of our persistence as creators despite these setbacks—the show must go on." -- Art+Design senior artists exhibiting in "Intermission."

“I am excited for these seven graduating seniors to present their art and design work in the gallery,” said Brandstater Gallery Director and Art+Design Professor Tim Musso. “Their work covers a wide range of topics and visions communicated through diverse mediums that include painting, printmaking, sculpture, drawing, digital, and site specific installations.”

The artists, along with other college students, pursued their degrees under the stress of a global pandemic that resulted in more than year and a half of a primarily virtual university experience. This led to the motivation behind the theme of their show and which they expressed in the exhibit statement.

“Intermission is an interlude between one phase and the next, serving as the anticipatory catalyst for what is to come in the acts that follow,” the statement reads. “This exhibition marks our long-awaited return to campus after the intermission of the Covid-19 pandemic. Wherein this extended interlude has presented each of us a unique set of challenges, we have cultivated a body of work that showcases our creative prowess within the realm of fine art and graphic design. Intermission is the attestation of our persistence as creators despite these setbacks—the show must go on.”
