For more than 30 years, Jorge has appeared in more than 3,000 concerts in venues ranging from New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, to churches, high school auditoriums and other locales in countries around the world. He has recorded 18 albums, and gives workshops and master classes.

A native of Cuba, Jorge began violin lessons at age 5. He and his family immigrated to the United States when he was 10 years old where he studied with eminent violinist Cyrus Forough, a student of the great David Oistrakh. Jorge initially studied medicine intending to become a missionary doctor. However, part way through medical school, he felt the distinct call of God to pursue a life of musical ministry.

Vocal faculty member Javier Gonzalez invited Jorge to La Sierra. “We're hoping his own experience can empower our students to think in terms of career path and what they can make happen on their merit, desire and work ethic,” he said.
