On Mon., Jan. 12, the academy will begin weekly rehearsals for a new youth chorus designed for kids in grades 3 – 6. Participation is free of charge. La Sierra music alum and educator Czarina Kaye Francisco will serve as director. She also currently serves as choir teacher for Loma Linda Academy’s elementary school.

“We are very excited about our chorus. I cannot think of a better way to bring our community together than by joining as one in song,” said Martin Glicklich, Academy of Visual and Performing Arts director. “Working together cooperatively and with a common goal, in addition to having loads of fun, makes this program a special opportunity for all involved.”

Rehearsals will be held from 6:15 – 7:30 p.m. each Monday in the band room of Hole Memorial Auditorium. For further information call 951-785-2086 or email avpa@lasierra.edu.

The Academy of Visual and Performing Arts at La Sierra University offers the community private music instruction and group classes in music, art, and drama. Courses offered include pottery, photography, dramatic improvisation, ukulele, guitar, and garage band.
