Hanson-Koobs series returns: virtual concert to feature top artists

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- La Sierra University's Department of Music is featuring a virtual return of its Hanson-Koobs Chamber Music Series on Feb. 11 in a performance by a quintet of top classical artists.

<p> Grace Park, violinist, winner of the 2018 Naumburg International Violin Competition, has appeared as soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and Canada.  </p>

This performance will showcase the following artists playing the Brahms Piano Quintet in f minor, Op. 34

  • Orion Weiss, concert pianist, is one of the most sought-after soloists in his generation of young American musicians. He has performed with the major American orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and New York Philharmonic.
  • Grace Park, violinist, winner of the 2018 Naumburg International Violin Competition, has appeared as soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and Canada at venues such as Walt Disney Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Rudolfinum in Prague, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Jordan Hall and Tri-Noon at Rockefeller University. 
  • Jason Uyeyama, violinist, is an associate professor and Director of String Studies at La Sierra University. He has performed and toured regularly with the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 2005, and has also performed with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.  In fall 2021 he will make his first appearance with Emerald City Music in Seattle, Wash. 
  • Ben Ullery, violist, is Assistant Principal Viola of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, a position he has held since 2012. Prior to moving to L.A., he spent three seasons as a member of the Minnesota Orchestra. Recently, he has performed as Guest Principal Viola with the Detroit Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, and Aspen Chamber Symphony.
