Escape the summer heat. Engage your mind and spirit with a unique display of wood cut prints at Brandstater Gallery. The Exquisite Corpse show, featuring 20 intricate prints of wood cut art by La Sierra's students and art faculty, involves vertical wood cut prints in black with touches of muted reds in some instances. Each full piece melds together three separately created sections for heads, torsos and legs. Various student artists along with assistant art professor Tim Musso and art department chair Beatríz Mejia-Krumbein created each individual work. The wood cuts portray the artists' perceptions and creativity in very unique ways.

While feasting on interesting visual arts, inspire your soul with music at Brandstater. A concert will be held Aug. 1 at 4 p.m. in the gallery, featuring concert pianist/Yale University student Michael Noble and tenor Jason Lee. Admission is free.

Brandstater Gallery's summer hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. For further information call 951-785-2959.
