“Extreme Makeover” Dentist Dorfman to lecture at La Sierra University

Dentist, business owner, television personality and philanthropist Bill Dorfman will impart his business management insights in a lecture at La Sierra University today, Tues., Feb. 16, at 5 p.m.

Dorfman has appeared extensively on national television shows including ABC's “Good Morning America,” CNN's “Larry King Live,” and “Entertainment Tonight.” He is the featured dentist for Europe's “Brand New You” and ABC's “Extreme Makeover” hit show.

Dorfman is co-founder of Discus Dental Inc., a dentistry aesthetics products company in Culver City that produces Brite Smile, Zoom! Nite White and other well-known product names. He also owns an aesthetic dental practice in the Beverly Hills area and founded the P.A.C.-LIVE, a patient hands-on continuum at the University of the Pacific Dental School. He is author of the New York Times best seller “Billion Dollar Smile and “The Smile Guide.”

His efforts to contribute to the well-being of others includes working with Discus Dental to raise more than $1 million for the Children's Dental Center and more than $24 million for children's hospitals and related charities with the Crown Council's “Smiles for Life” campaign.

Dorfman is also co-founder of the nonprofit LEAP Foundation that strives to help high school and college-age students succeed through weeklong mentorship and professional development workshops at the University of California, Los Angeles.

He graduated from UCLA in 1980 with a degree in psychobiology. Dorfman earned a dental degree in 1983 from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco.
