Sound of Music 'Dinner and a Show’ Sweepstakes!

Enter the 'Dinner and a Show' Sweekstakes to win a night out with a vegetarian dinner and a fully-staged production of the beloved musical, The Sound of Music

La Sierra University’s ‘Dinner and a Show’ social media sweepstakes offers a chance to win a complimentary dinner for four in our Dining Commons vegetarian cafeteria and four free tickets to see The Sound of Music on either Saturday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. or Sunday, March 8 at 3:00 p.m. Shows are in Hole Memorial Auditorium. How to enter:

The contest begins Wednesday, March 4 at 1:00 p.m. PST and runs through Friday, March 6 at 1:00 p.m. PST. Entry rules are as follows:

  • Contestants must use personal social media accounts and follow one of our main social media platforms -- @lasierranews on Twitter, @LaSierraU on Facebook or @lasierrauniversity on Instagram, then either re-tweet our Twitter sweepstakes posts that have the hashtag #lasierradinnerandashow, or ‘like’ our sweepstakes competition posts with #lasierradinnerandashow on Facebook or Instagram. One re-tweeted or ‘liked’ entry per day per person! (see additional contest rules below.)
  • Contestants must be age 18 or over and able to attend the Sound of Music shows on the dates noted.
  • Contestants must enter via personal social accounts only. No organizational/business social media accounts may enter the contest.
  • All four tickets and meal vouchers must be used on the same day and may not be split between the two offered Sound of Music events.
  • Meal vouchers must be used during the dinner hour at the Dining Commons on the day of the selected show and may not be used at other times at the Dining Commons.
  • Dining Commons cafeteria dinner hours on Sat., March 7 and Sun., March 8 are 5 – 6:30 p.m. Further information about Dining Commons services is available here: lasierra.edu/dining-services/

Winner selection:

All ‘liked’ or re-tweeted social media posts of the Sound of Music #lasierradinnerandashow contest will be compiled from the three platforms. One winner will be randomly selected Friday, March 6 between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. The winner will be contacted via private/direct message and will be announced on social media and on this webpage. The winner must provide their actual name and give La Sierra University permission to publish it. The winner will select the preferred show date and tickets will be made available at the door of the event for pick up by the winner. Meal vouchers will be made available at the Dining Commons cafeteria entrance under the winner’s name for use on the evening of the selected show date. The winner must provide a government-issued photo ID when picking up meal vouchers and tickets. 

Additional contest rules:

Contestants must choose which social media platform they will use for entry, and use only that platform for the duration of the contest. Only one Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram account per person is allowed for entry, with one entry per day per person via a ‘like’ of the contest post or re-tweet of the contest post. Anyone found using multiple accounts on one or all three platforms for multiple entries during a single day will be disqualified. No purchase or payment is necessary to win any of the prizes. 

Additionally, tickets must be used only for the shows promoted in this contest and are not transferrable to other events, nor are available for cash redemption. Once winnings are redeemed and a performance and meal voucher date is chosen, no changes can be made. 

By entering this contest, entrants and the winner grant permission to La Sierra University’s Department of Communication and Integrated Marketing to use his/her name, social media account name, and/or likeness for promotional purposes without additional compensation beyond contest winnings. We will not sell, lease or trade personal information with non-affiliated third parties. 

Liability Release, added costs, etc.

Contest entrants by their participation release Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter of liability. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter social media platforms.

Contest entrants and winner will agree to hold La Sierra University and the Department of Communication and Integrated Marketing harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.

Any additional costs related to a prize that was incurred as a result of accepting a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. 

Any false or fraudulent entries will be declined. Employees of the La Sierra University Office of Community and Integrated Marketing are not eligible to win.
