Blackboard Learn (LMS)

Blackboard Learn is a web-based Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS provides the opportunity for online and hybrid teaching, learning, collaboration, assessment, and data analysis. The platform is needed to create rich and interactive digital learning content and assessments and help analyze students' performance, engagement, and acquired knowledge.

Panopto

Panopto is a video content management system and solution for recording, managing, streaming and sharing original video content. We have adopted Panopto due to its wide range of features, such as live streaming, advanced video search engine, LMS integration, interactive video components, integrated accessibility, closed caption, video analytics, and reporting features. La Sierra University uses Panopto in many ways, such as lecture Capture, flipped Classroom, and professional training and development.

Zoom

Zoom offers a wide range of meeting services, including video conferencing, webinars, screen sharing, digital whiteboards, rich chat experience, and other collaborative services. Zoom services promote collaboration and effective online teaching and learning by connecting faculty and students through voice, video, and screen-sharing capabilities. We are pleased to be able to serve our La Sierra students community by offering a licensed (Pro) Zoom account, at no cost, to all our active full-time students as part of our Zoom Education Plan.

Blackbaord Ally (Accessibility)

La Sierra University has adopted Blackboard Ally, a service that integrates seamlessly into the Learning Management System (LMS). Ally provides insights into digital content accessibility and offers the faculty and students the resources, recommendations, and alternative content formats to make digital course content more accessible. It offers the tool to:

  1. Understand the institution's accessibility performance.
  2. Proactively fine-tune content accessibility.
  3. View accessibility trends and detailed reports to monitor improvement.

Badgr (Microcredetinaling)

Badgr is a digital badging and microcredetinaling platform that allows institutions to award and track badges based on the learners' achievements earned under specific programs offered by the institution. Badges can be awarded in various educational contexts, whether formal or informal, allowing the learners to complete learning pathways that this tool can share with prospective employers or peers via social and professional networking platform.
