Our FIRST Principles
Fun
Hanging out together is at the heart of LEAF, from playing Minecraft on the Discord server to collaborating on different projects.
Inquiry
Discovery is all about asking questions, and we’re ready to help you develop your curiosity and engagement.
Real
Your project is worth showing off, so let’s get your ideas out of your head and into the real world of live readings, game play, poster presentations, and more.
Safe
From the Discord server to the La Sierra labs, we all work to keep everyone safe by following good codes of conduct and watching out for each other.
Team-oriented
By joining or starting a project, you’re building collaboration and leadership skills with a team of like-minded people.
Our Helping Ethos
Medical students learning to perform surgery hear the maxim "see one, do one, teach one." Here in LEAF, you can do the same. (Not surgery, the other part.) We’re here to support each other, so don’t be afraid to ask for help from your team members, mods, profs, and branch leaders. And as soon as you learn something, get ready to pass that knowledge on and help newer members.
Need extras for your film project? Let the LEAF community know. Want someone to read your fiction and give feedback? We’re here. Not sure how to debug your game code or detect sprite collisions or build the health bar? Talk through the code line by line with your team, or drop by streaming office hours with a mod or prof for live help.
