Audition Information
Thank you for your interest in the La Sierra University Wind and Percussion Department
PREPARING FOR YOUR AUDITION
- Please dress to impress, as if you were interviewing.
- Be warmed up and ready to play at the time of your audition.
- Please check in with the front desk if you are needing a practice room to warm up.
- Tuners ARE allowed during the audition
Please note that all Wind and Percussion students are required to audition and play in the University Wind Ensemble.
La Sierra University Wind Ensemble rehearsals will take place on Mondays 6:00pm-7:50pm and Wednesdays 11:00am-12:50pm.
- Auditions for Wind Ensemble will take place on Monday, September 21st.
- Please, fill the Wind Ensemble Audition Form to sign up for an audition time.

Excerpts | For the performance component of the audition, students will be asked to select 2 excerpts of music from this packet. One excerpt should feature lyrical playing, while the other should showcase your technical ability. For percussionists, the 2 excerpts should be on 2 different instruments. |
Sight-Reading | Dr. Lundahl will have you play 1-2 sight-reading excerpts to complete the audition. |
