Adrian Dunker

Biography

Adrian Dunker has studied with James Atkinson, James Decker, Vincent DeRosa, and Andrew Bain. He is an active member in many chamber ensembles, such as the Quintessential Winds, Pacific Brass Ensemble, and multiple brass quintets and horn quartets.  

As an active freelancer, Adrian plays regularly with the Riverside County Philharmonic, San Bernardino Symphony, Redlands Symphony, Musical Theater West, 3D Theatricals, Dana Point Symphony, Golden State Pops, Los Angeles Symphony, Burbank Philharmonic, Los Angeles Sinfonietta, Jalisco Philharmonic, The Orchestra of Baja California, and South-east Symphony, among others. He is active in the recording studios and is a member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 47.  

Adrian began arranging and composing music in high school for various ensembles. In 2009, Adrian received a civilian award from the United States Army, 25th Infantry Division Band for his musical arrangements which were performed by the Army’s brass quintet.  He also composed and arranged music for the California Police Chief’s Association’s 2011 Fallen Officer Tribute, making the front page of the OC Register. He writes and arranges for the Los Angeles Opera, earning international acclaim. Currently he is working on commissions, compositions, and arrangements for his chamber music ensembles.

Adrian's "day job" is the foreman and horn designer at Atkinson Brass & Co. in Burbank, CA. There he built his own horn and designed a new triple horn which is being sold around the world.
