Biography

Bassist Spencer Baldwin holds a Bachelor’s in Music from the University of Redlands and a Master’s in Music from Azusa Pacific University. He did additional undergraduate work at the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam under the tutelage of Peter Stotijn. Mr. Baldwin is currently the Principal bassist with the American Youth Symphony and a section member with the Redlands Symphony. He currently teaches at CSU San Bernardino, Azusa Pacific University, Crafton Hills College, La Sierra University, and U. C. Riverside. In 2017, he was named Program Director for MUSICA!, an El Sistema based string program located in San Jacinto, CA. Spencer’s principal teachers have included Tim Emmons, Tim Eckert, Nico Abondolo, David Murray, and Dr. Matt Hare.
