Federal Work Study Financial Aid

Work-Study Program

Federal Work-Study (FWS) provides employment and community service opportunities for students who are eligible for need-based financial aid.  Awards are based on the availability of funding and the student's financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

After filing the FAFSA, the Office of Student Financial Services will send an award notification to students who have applications completed.  The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity for employment arranged around class schedules. Students must be enrolled as full-time to be eligible for this program. Upon being hired, you will receive an hourly wage set by the employer (at least minimum wage). Work-Study funds are not considered in the college payment plan, as they are paid directly to students via a paycheck that is issued every other week as a student works.

Departments work with the Human Resource (HR) office to post open positions.

If you wish to be considered for Federal Work Study, you must indicate this preference on the FAFSA, or inform your Financial Aid Counselor.
