As a student, you have access to a variety of free resources that can assist you. From free food opportunities, free transportation, and  wellness programs, we are here to support you every step of the way. Our dedicated staff and faculty are committed to providing you with the tools and support you need to succeed.

Nutritional Support

Welcome students! Here below you’ll find information on local food drives and programs that provide access to food relief resources. Whether you're facing temporary hardship or need ongoing assistance, we want to help ensure you have the nourishment you need to live a nourished life.   • Food Pantry at Elevate Life Church 
    • 4027 Trail Creek Rd, Riverside, CA 92505
    • Tuesdays and Fridays 9am-12pm; Located in the Children’s Ministry Building.
    • Don't forge to visit https://elevatechurch.tv/food-distribution to register before arriving
  • The link below will direct you to a website that locates Local Food Pantries for you. Keep in mind that some food pantries may as require you to sign up or have other requirements. It is always a great idea to find out more information before arriving. 
  • SNAP Benefits – Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (CalFresh Program)
    • The CalFresh Program in California, formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, is intended to provide eligible individuals and families with financial assistance to purchase groceries, aiming to alleviate food insecurity and promote healthy eating habits. The change to CalFresh emphasizes the focus on fresh, nutritious foods and aims to reduce any stigmas associated with the program.

Housing Programs and Assistance

Home is where the Heart is. We've got your back! Here are some aid to help you find housing security and support you through any bumps in the road. Whether you're looking for affordable housing options, need assistance with rent, or seeking shelter, we're here to guide you to the right resources. Let's make sure you have a comfy place to study, relax, and call home! 

  • Riverside Rental Assistance Program
  • The Housing Authority of the County of Riverside (HACR) is a public agency chartered by the State of California to administer the development, rehabilitation or financing of affordable housing programs. They offer resources from Emergency Housing Vouchers to Affordable Housing Searches. Apply for the open waiting-lists on the website below.
  • The website below will lead you to the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County (CAP Riverside). There, you may find information and assistance programs that can aid you, which may include help with monthly expenses for low-income homes such as energy, water, and sewer bills, voluntary income tax assistance, youth programs, savings matching (to help build a savings account), dispute resolution, and more.
  • The link below will direct you straight to the Riverside Shelters and Programs page. Once there, you will find a few shelters for the unhoused that are listed. Under those descriptions, there are programs for people who have been unfortunately displaced.

Ride Aid: Get Where You Need to Be!

Navigate campus and beyond with ease! Discover free transportation options tailored for college students. From local shuttle services to the large Metrolink, these resources make getting around town simple and affordable. Whether you're running an errand or exploring the city, we've got you covered with convenient and cost-effective transportation solutions.

  • Riverside Transit Agency 
    • The Riverside Transit Agency’s (RTA) Board of Directors has approved a plan that grants free rides to any youth 18 and under as well as students at Cal Baptist University, La Sierra University, Moreno Valley College, Mt. San Jacinto College, Norco College, Riverside City College and UC Riverside. The GoPass or UPass can be obtained through their app using a school-issued email.
    • Download the RTA GoMobile app available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

  • The Metrolink – Adventure Student Pass
    • Students can obtain a free Student Adventure Pass at any Metrolink ticket machine. To take advantage of the Student Adventure Pass program, students must have valid student identification and be able to present it upon request during fare inspection. Alternatively, students can download the Metrolink mobile app and register using their school email address, verifying their account, to automatically receive the Student Adventure Pass in their mobile ticket wallet.

  • Free Counseling and Basic Medical Attention for Students
    • Wellness Services:

        • Here you may find online or in-person meetings with a licensed councelor provided by the University. 
        • There are also self resources, screening tools, and more information on other challenges students may be facing such as anxiety or anger problems, to name a few. 
      • Medical Attention: https://lasierra.edu/medical-services/ 
        • This is for illnesses or injury that requires prompt medical attention but is NOT life-threatening. If you are experiencing a Medical Emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.

      • The link above will take you another page to discover on and off-campus food resources, including food pantries and snack spots around campus. Never go hungry with these handy locations at your fingertips!
  • Campus Safety and Security
    • lasierra.edu/security/
      • ​​​​​​​Offering quick help for your car, Campus Security can assist with jump starting, lending a hand in fixing a tire, or opening your car if you lock hour keys inside. 
      • Campus Security also offers rides and escorts if you are feeling unsafe to walk alone at night or have been injured. 

Extra Money Opportunites

We're here to help you succeed by providing resources to access possible ways of earning a bit of passive income. Explore our suggestions to potentially increase your income. If you are in need of a job, Indeed is a useful tool that can help while you search. Also, make sure to keep an eye out for on-campus job postings that may becoming available.

  • Donating Plasma 
    • Due to the high need of plasma from healthy adults in order to either save someone's life or improve their current living. You can be a part of the cause while also recieving compensation for your time and plasma.

During the school year, all service offices close on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for University Worship.
